Persian Nougat

Persian Pistachio Nougat Orlando

Persian Nougat originally named Gaz comes from Isfahan, a province in Iran. This traditional candy is made from honeydew - a sugar like sticky liquid created by tiny insects in tamarisk trees - mixed with pistachios, almond kernels, rosewater and egg whites.

Persian Nougat is chewy, sweet and crunchy making it a delicious treat to enjoy with family and friends. Persian Nougat is traditionally served in 2 inch diameter round pieces, but it can now be found in smaller rectangle presentations. In celebrations such as Nowruz, gaz is a favorite snack served with a fresh brewed cup of tea.
